Timeline is Facebook’s new way of presenting you to the world. It replaces your traditional profile page – the one with your headshot and a smorgasbord of personal musings, photos and other items to share with friends. Instead of just a snapshot of you today, Timeline is supposed to be a scrapbook of your whole life.
Facebook’s Timeline — the long-anticipated overhaul of the site — is rolling out across the world this week.
Timeline allows friends to surf through all your posts going back to the beginning of Facbeook time. Graphically it can be a beautiful thing. Mark Zuckerberg calls it a chance for users to tell the stories of their lives. And over the next few weeks, users across the world will get it on their profile.
Now that’s dedication.
In an attempt to break a Guinness World Record, Cathy Matthews and about 106 other people — many of whom, like herself, are fans of the Facebook game “Frontierville” — posted a whopping 1,001,291 comments to a single Facebook post, KTXL-TV in Sacramento reports.

Everyone knows someone who has posted or often posts these types of menacing messages on public forums. Sure, we understand that the girl who stole your boyfriend totally deserves to be chastised, but posting it so that each of your 1207 Facebook friends can see it? Come on. The truth is, no one cares. These status updates not only make you look like a brat, but also diminish the impact of your threats. An in-person message to the guilty party would go a lot farther.

Over 200,000 followers of Jake Owen‘s page on Facebook could have gotten an eyeful this afternoon, as the ‘Alone With You’ singer’s account was apparently hacked. Friends and fans hoping to catch a few glimpses from his tour or of his dog Merle instead got pictures of, well … use your imagination.
“Sorry to those that were offended by my Facebook page,” Owen wrote on Twitter. “It was hacked with Porn…. Unfortunately it was taken down before I got to see it.”
Next summer, Owen will be touring with Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw on the Brothers of the Sun Tour.
