Tony’s Blog – Dog Day Afternoon

cujo-04Since I started living on my own last year after Candy & I split, I’ve obviously had to adjust to a lot of changes. Most expected & handled fairly easily. Obviously, there are a lot of things I miss about married life, but this is my reality. I am very happy that we can now talk & laugh & get along better than we had in quite a while. The thing I’ve found I miss the most is coming home to my dogs. There’s nothing quite like the greeting a dog gives you. Whether you’ve been gone for the day or for a week, they make you feel like the coolest person in the world. Unfortunately, I moved into a place that IMG_1840doesn’t allow pets. In my adjustment, the companionship would have been helpful, but I also knew that it wouldn’t be fair to crate a dog that had been used to having a yard & freedom. So, I get pictures & videos, as if they were extra kids. This is the first time in over 20 years I haven’t had a pet, and it’s a stark reminder of the important role they’ve played in my happiness through my life.
