TK1 Blog From Melissa – Concerts & Friends
In my last blog I mentioned how I was going to go to a couple of concerts. Dustin Lynch whom I saw a couple weeks ago was awesome. I am excited for his self titled album to hit stores later this month and recommend that everyone gives him a listen. He played for an hour – twenty straight, then did meet & greets, pictures and autographs with everyone after the show. He is a really nice guy, and a great entertainer. A few days after Dustin’s show I got to see The Farm, JT Hodges, Lee Brice, and Phil Vassar all at one show. The sound system is always horrible with shows at the rodeo grounds, just kind of how it goes but Phil Vassar always puts on a kick a$$ show. JT Hodges was decent, I think it has to do with the sound system but I am looking forward to his album also due out later this month. Concert season seems to be just getting under way for my neck of the woods. Toby Keith, John Michael Montgomery, Jerrod Neiman, Mark Chesnutt, Chris Cagle, Rascal Flatts, Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley, and Carrie Underwood are all here in a short time period from each other and none of them are together, but bringing other artist with them. It would be nice to attend them all, however picking and choosing is what you have to do. So, how do you pick and choose?
Last week I got to spend some time with my best friends of 20 years and her 6 yr old daughter. We live about 90 minutes apart from each other talk a lot, but rarely see each other because of our schedules. It was such a fun, much needed day. Her and I met in grade school and have been attached ever since. We have been though it all together. She is a single mom, works full time, and is also going to school to further her career so I give her all the props in the world. It is the simple things in life that really make you appreciate everything.
In another week I will be back in school as my little break is over. I am excited because I see light at the end of the tunnel as this time next year I will be done. Where I will be, well not sure yet but I know that many doors will be opening and I am excited to see where the journey takes me. It is a lot of hard work to get there, but that is how I will appreciate it more in the end, knowing all the sweat that went into it, and that I accomplished it on my own. Having some down time has been nice, but I am anxious to get back at it, not because it runs me rugged, but more because I am just anxious to finish and seeing the end results.
One more quick little note… welcome back NFL!! Here’s to a great season for which ever your team is, me well I have two teams! I know I am not the only person who is ready for some FOOTBALL!!
