TK1 Tina Blog – The Left Hand Chop, The Point, And Eagle Wings
Over time I have been to MANY concerts. But, just recently I have noticed certain artists have a
‘signature’ hand jester or move a certain way while on stage. First up, my gateway to country
music: Kenny Chesney.
Kenny isn’t a large man but he is buff and amazing looking he can swing his little hips like
nobody’s business. However his ‘signature’ move (in my eyes) is the left hand chop. He always
holds the mic in his right hand so the left is available for this move.
See the examples below.
Chris Young has a signature move that I know all of YOUNG COUNTRY will know…THE POINT! It has
been noticed, talked about and I am sure patent somewhere. And if not it should! Chris just gets so
excited on stage and has so much energy it shows! Sometimes it’s just one hand sometimes, gasp, it’s a
double shot gun point (see second and fourth pictures).
Tim McGraw is starting to tour with longtime friend, Kenny Chesney; I think one thing that sticks out to
me that he does is the “eagle wings.” I’m not sure if he is trying to encourage the crowd to sing or he is
attempting a big crowd huge…I/we welcome those open arms.

I tried to find some traits from the ladies of country music but nothing but Carrie Underwood’s legs and
Miranda’s pink guitar stood out. What are some hidden traits you have seen? Please share!
Next time,
T
